Back to the Real World

Oh, that’s right. I have a blog.

It’s been a busy week that started with the best possible Monday ever. After twelve years of graduate school and months upon months of waiting through (yes, I do mean waiting, not wading) the academic requirements of dissertation completion, I received word at 8:18 on Monday morning that my thesis passed and thus, my degree is completed. Celebration, relief, tears, rejoicing, and a host of inexpressible emotions made up the rest of that day and the next and the next and . . . you get the idea. I’m still coming back to earth (that is where I live, isn’t it?), as well as recuperating from other events of the week.

Meanwhile, Nebuchadnezzar had a dream, didn’t he?

P.S. I was asked in a job interview this week if I had any plans to go back to school for more education. I think I laughed out loud.

  1. Think about though, if you got another Ph. D you could be “Double Dr, Widder” a really unique title?? Congratulations by the way on the first.

    1. “Double Dr. Dubya.” That’ll have to wait for another lifetime. 😉

  2. Congratulations! I’m glad you’ve made it through, but jealous that I still have a ways to go. 🙂

    1. Thanks! Time flies when you’re having…
